On this blog you will find vinyl albums from the past.

Hello to all.
I am afraid i have some bad news, well not real bad, but for most of my blogs it will be not good. All good things comes to an end at sometime and this is the time the good things for most of my blogs will end as of now.
I will stop updating en repairing links and all that is necessary for those blogs. Not that i don’t like it anymore, but like i said in earlier comments i found other things to enjoy and focus on and that uses up a great part of my time. Real life activities and some online. And unfortunately there are only 24 hours in 1 day. I will only focus on and maintaining the British Comics Blog and the Newspaper Blog. All other blogs will still be here and all things can be downloaded as long as the links are alive. If there is something urgent or you have questions you still can make a comment, i will be observing the blogs for eventualities.

There will be albums from all sort of musicstyles, popular, orchestral, musical, opera, rock, classical, jazz and everything else.

I’ve focussed on the timeperiod 1945-1965, perhaps a few earlier or later.

From well known artists from the past like Al Jolson, Bing Crosby, Caterina Valente, Connie Francis, Doris Day, Frank Sinatra, Miles Davis, Pat Boone and many many more.

But also less well known for most people like Bo Rhambo, Buddy Cole, Dennis Day, Frank Froeba and many many more.

There will also be theme-related widgets like Surfing Music in the 60s, Love and Peace in the 60s, music from tv-series from the 50s-70s. Since i am from the Netherlands there will also be a theme Music in the Netherlands in the 60s.

It’s best to see for yourself what you might like, you can access all albums in the sidebars, i’ve tried to categorize them as best as i could.

Most of the time you will be directed to a subpage with the albumcovers from the artists, from there you can choose the album(s) you like to go to the download- and informationpage.

Everything is packed with winrar, you can unpack the files and listen to the mp3’s.
Most are individual mp3’s from that album, but sometimes you will find an mp3 with the complete album.

Not albums are complete, but most are.

Most of the quality is good enough, sometimes it’s a little squeekie but still reasonable to listen.

Thanks to the following sites for the information and links and pictures/covers.

  2. I still have loads of episodes from old tv-series 50s,60s,70s.
Bonanza, Batman, Lucy, Steptoe and Son, Doctor Who and many many more, most are in mp4 format and easy to cast on a smart-tv, but you can watch them on any suitable device offcourse. For years i wanted to do something with them on a blog. For the last weeks i am watching the episodes of Batman from the 60s tv series, and i decided now is the time to do something with it. So i start working preparing everything for the blog Vintage Vinyl and more, find information, use some pictures, upload and make the pages with the information and the links and more, so that will take a few months, probably a half year, because i am also still working on the blog Comics For All and busy with doing new things that has no relation to my blogs. But they will be coming in a new theme Vintage TV Shows on the blog somewhere this year.

It was a tradition that i take a break in the summermonths to
have a chance to spend more time outside, cycling, taking pictures,
walking, visit events, fishing, focussing on other things.
The last 2 years that was not advisible, but now there are no longer
Covid restrictions i will pick this up again.
I will be looking at the blogs and make new links that are reported dead.
And i will be answering questions in comments also if i can.
That goes for all of my blogs.

  4. Hello, thank you for your incredible site. Your subsite on children’s records brought me here. I’m out of season but the other day I bought a copy of something special (I think). In 1976 RCA put out some reissues in compilation form. So they took CAS-1068 Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer (Album) 1965 with CAS 1101 ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas – The Sugar Plum Fairy And Cast (LP, Album) 1968. Both RCA Camden. They repackeged them without the original art and added a track by the Living Strings. It is and was magical. Both records are great on their own but the combination was awesome. I’m editing together a video of the two and trying to get it on Youtube. I saw your post on the “Twas The Night Before Christmas but do you have anything on the RCA Camden Rudolph record?

    1. What exactly do you mean with classic ? The origin of country and western music what concidered to be the 1st generation in the 20s with artists like John Carson, Vernon Dalhart, Samantha Bumgarner, Eva Davis and many others in this decade ? After that the 2nd generation in the 30s and 40s and a 3th generation in the 50s and 60s. Or just classic famous country artists like Patsy Cline, John Denver, Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and so on. Offcourse there are lots of sideroads also like Hillbilly Boogie, Bluegrass, Honky Tonk, Rockabilly.

  17. Punkrock Various Countries is open for visitors.
I am working also on new wave and alternative music from the late 70s and early 80’s, that’s sometimes a sort of overlap with punkmusic but in my opinion not really the same with bands like B52’s, Devo, the Fall, Gang Of Four, Pop Group, Talking Heads and singers like Elvis Costello and Joe Jackson.
I hope to have this ready next month.

  18. I’ve made the 1st part of the Punkmusic in the 70s and 80s. It’s the United Kingdom, tomorrow followed by the United States and after that the rest of the world. It’s not all punkmusic like the Sex Pistols but also some bands that were also appreciated in the punkscene these days, at least in my surroundings, like the Jam, Stiff Little Fingers, Undertones. I hope you enjoy it as much as i did searching on the internet, looking and listening and making the pages.

  19. I am currently working on a theme Punkmusic in the 70s and 80s. I hope to have downloads and information on punkmusic from all over the world next month or so. After this i like to make a theme also with new wave in the 80’s including some (what i think) great bands in that periode that not really fits into the punk or new wave category like Buzzcocks, Joy Division, Magazine, Nina Hagen Band, Only Ones, Pop Group, Siouxsie and the Banshees.

You are welcome, the OTR’s will be somewehere in the next month’s but it’s hard to tell when exactly because there are well over 900 shows with well over 50.000 episodes and i have to find the information and upload everything and organize the pages, so it could be in 2 months, or 3 or 4 it also depends on what i have to do for my other blogs.

Including the first steps in the musicindustry by Alice Cooper with the Spiders, the band where Greg and Duane Allman started before they became the Allman Brothers Band, the band where Grace Slick started, the Great Society, before she joined Jefferson Airplane, and Golliwog that later evolved into Creedence Clearwater Revival. I hope you have as much fun browsing this theme as i had making it.

I found out that i had alot of old time radioshows on a few cd’s and plan to make a special category for Old Time Radio also, but that will be much later this year.
For now i will take a break to focus on my other blogs, especially the new one that will bring together most of my comicblogs.

  22. I am still working on 60s Garage Rock, i have to sort out 200+ artists and bands from all over the world, but i think it will be worth the time and effort, should be a great category to browse through if you like this genre. Hopefully somewhere next month it will be finished.

  24. I’ve finished the theme Jamaican Ska.
If you even wondered where Skagroups from the 80s like Specials and Madness were inspired by, you have to browse this theme.
I saw many concerts in the 80’s by Specials, Madness, Selecter, Bad Manners, and especially the Specials with trombonist Rico Rodriguez and trumpettist Dick Cuthell were my favorites.

It was difficult sometimes because many artists that played ska, played reggae also (just a thin line between those) but i’ve tried to focus on the ska and rocksteady.

Btw, you have to check out the videoclip at the Shangri-Las page, i think it’s brilliantly hilarious.

Next week i will be working on the theme Bubblegum Music, should not be a large theme because it was just a short periode and little artists but nevertheless has his significance.

  28. I’ve finished the theme Surfing Music.
I will be working on other themes the next weeks but when they will be finished is hard to tell, that kinda depends on the weather, it’s summerlike now so i will be more outside fishing and biking with the restrictions for going outside being lowered. Next theme could be ready next week or in 2 weeks, but i will let know in a comment when and which ones are ready.

Next weeks i will be working on the themes from which you allready can see the pictures.
British invasion in the 60s and Surfmusic in the 60s only needs a bit of work so i think they will be ready tomorrow or in the weekend.
The other themes will be done also, but later, those need some more time working on.

    1. If i understand correctly you mean music from like Indians, Innuit, Aboriginals, Maori’s and others that are originally, native, from a particular country or part of the world. That would be very interesting, i sure will be on the look out for it the coming months to see if there is enough material to make this category. There is a little bit like this with the Hawaiian category, but that’s more the popular versions from western artists.

  32. Welcome to this blog. It’s a work in progress and it will be so for the coming months.

I try to place the albums in appropriate categories what sometimes can be a little difficult, like is it jazz or dixieland, in earlier years it’s even sometimes jazz and blues at the same time.
Just like is it musical or operette or a movie, like Singin’ in the rain, started as a movie and became a Broadway Musical.
Please let me know if something is incorrect with the information or not working, i checked some samples of the links but to check all links (over 3500) is too much work, so there always can be a not working link or cover.

I’ve done some work allready and the next categories are finished so you can browse through these ones and download the music.

    Bandmusic
    Barbershop
    Blues
    Choirs
    Classical Composers
    Classical Orchestras
    Classical Various
    Comedy
    Square Dancing
    Waltzes
    Dance Various
    Dixieland
    Folk American
    Folk Various
    Hawaii
    Instrumental Accordion
    Instrumental Guitar
    Instrumental Harmonica
    Instrumental Organ
    Instrumental Piano

I will let you know in a comment when i finished another category.
